Situated inside the Northumberland National Park, with a backdrop of the Simonside Hills and a pleasant descent to the lovely Coquet valley above the town of Rothbury, Pele Cottage at Tosson is an excellent base from which to explore the region.

LordenshawsStep outside and access the footpath that leads to Tosson Burgh Hillfort, the Forestry Commission walks, the crags and 1410 foot high summit of Simonside. St Oswald’s Way passes close by at Lordenshaws. Walk here to view a fine example of prehistoric rock art.
